Thomas Piketty (French: [tɔma pikɛti]; born May 7, 1971) is a French economist who specializes in the study of economic inequality. He has remained director of studies at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), is now the Associate Chair at the Paris School of Economics, and the author of Capital in the Twenty-First Century (2014).
